Halloween Eve in Weehawken, New Jersey -- not exactly Transylvania but close
enough. Katharine (Lynn Redgrave) and her young lover Rick (Harry
Connick Jr.) are throwing a party and invites two other couples to
share the scary festivities.
Uninvited guests include two ghosts, Kat's Great-Grandfather (William Hurt) and a
flapper from the Roaring '20s (Samantha Mathis).
Rick brings along a storefront psychic (Tyne
Daly) who predicts that by New Year's Eve one of the couples will break up. Paranoia
reigns and all the couples begin to self-destruct as the fateful eve approaches.
